Welcome to our first newsletter of 2017. Over the next few months, we at Davenham Theatre are hosting a great array of performing arts, starting with “Tonight on the Wireless” later this month in which a live audience will experience an evening of Radio Plays, Comedy and Sketches as a cast perform live to the microphone with sound effects.
Next in April “Dark Moments” takes to the stage exploring life through the lens of three one-act plays Jazz@Davenham continues its programme of monthly jazz gigs. Coming up later this month is the Pat McCarthy quartet and next month it’s John Shennoy’s Draw by Four. Davenham Players Club Nights have dates booked in March and April for Play Readings and other social activities. Paulette Anderson is holding an audition for a storytelling evening on Thursday 28th March. See Dates for Your Diary below This January, Winsford lad Alan Fleet shot a short comedy film starring Andrea Scott and Philip Lightfoot. Andrea was picked after Alan saw her in a play at Davenham Theatre. The film, A Randy Obsession, is 4m 28s long and has now been uploaded to Alan’s YouTube channel (Alan Fleet – YouTube) for everyone to view for free. Don’t forget that the Davenham Community Mosaic is open and on show to anyone who comes along to the theatre at 59 Church Street CW9 8NF. Come and see what the local community has achieved. For two nights only in March, Davenham Theatre will be turned into a radio studio. You will be the live audience; the actors perform live to microphone.
