DESCRIPTION:Tom Barry has started off a History of Davenham Theatre project with the aim of presenting the results in a show to be constructed during workshop sessions to be held weekly on Sundays. \nTom is inviting anyone interested in being involved or in sharing stories\, information or history that they may have. The material for the event doesn’t have to come from specific sources\, it could be passed on or already known. \nTom says “I want to encourage people to come forward wherever possible at this stage. This will provide us with material to develop ideas for how it will work as a presentation.” There will be multiple opportunities for people to share experiences through talking or handing over written material or whatever they have. \nLook out on Facebook\, Twitter and the website for more news. \nOr contact Tom by email \nHello everyone. \nHope you’re all well and recovered from recent shenanigans on and off respective stages. \nI have been caught in limbo slightly for THoDT project between plans of the past and revised plans based on the meeting in December. There was a plan to have another meeting this Sunday but I would like to cancel that one and rearrange. \nThese are the dates I would like to book-in pending everyone’s thoughts or potential flagging of issues: \nNext meeting/public workshop Sunday 10th February 6.30 – 9.30pm \n1st block of workshops:  Sundays 3rd\, 10th\, 17th\, 24th & 31st March\, 7th & 14th April – 6.30 – 9.30pm \n2nd Block:  Sunday 28th April\, 5th & 12th May 6.30 – 9.30pm \nPerformance nights:  Fri 24th & Sat 25th May \nHope this is all clear. DESCRIPTION:Audition for the Davenham Players Autumn production \nDancing At Lughnasa by Brian Friel \nProduction week is w/b 16th Sept.  Barbara Crellin directing\nThe play is loosely based on the lives of author Brian Friel’s mother and aunts who lived in the village of Glenties (situated where two glens meet) on the west coast of County Donegal\, Republic of Ireland. Written in 1990\, Dancing at Lughnasa premiered in Dublin before moving to the National Theatre in London and later to the big screen with Michael Gambon and Meryl Streep in 1998. \nSet in the summer of 1936 in the fictional town of Ballybeg\, the play depicts the late summer days when love briefly seems possible for five of the Mundy sisters; then the family welcomes home the frail elder brother\, Jack\, who has returned from life as a missionary in Africa. However\, as the summer progresses\, the family foresees sadness and economic privations. DESCRIPTION:Hello All \nI’m sure that by now you will have heard the sad news about the need to postpone the September production of Dancing at Lughnasa as it has been temporarily withdrawn from availability for performance by amateurs.  I know that Barbara was very excited to be directing this play and is still looking forward to being able to do so again in the not too distant future\, maybe in June 2020. \nI have offered to fill the gap by directing The Steamie\, a comedy by Tony Roper (Rab C Nesbitt) which will be performed week beginning 21 October instead (don’t worry we are\, as we speak\, checking for any restrictions!).  There will be a read through on Tuesday 23 July and an audition on Tue 6 August.  The cast is made up as follows:  F4/M1.  The oldest is about 75\, one about 65\, one about 40 and one is young – all a bit flexible.  The male is described as young and big! Again flexible.  All are working class Glaswegians  – no glamorous parts I’m afraid. \nIt would be very helpful if anyone interested in being involved could let me know in advance about any restrictions they have re. SUMMARY:RADIO Nights 2020 - First Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Hello all. \nI hope you are all well.  This is our first call for THIS Sunday.  I can’t quite believe it is here already.  It will be lots of fun and a chance to come along\, have a chat\, have a laugh and see what the plans are.  As ever\, don’t let the odd bit of unavailability put you off\, we can work with it. \nA couple of requests though for Sunday.  We are going to take some images for publicity.  Remember the theme is Time & Travel.  So I would like you to come equipped with any costume or props that might take us to (or at least suggest) another time\, era or place.  Anything is valid\, and nothing can be too much!   All will become clear! \nThe second request is bring any material (as in scripted\, written etc) you have so that we can begin putting it all together.  We only have a couple of weeks to do this so please get cracking! \nPlease PLEASE pass this on to anyone who may be interested in being involved.  This Sunday is to get things going\, others will still be welcome afterwards.  We hope to have plenty of things to share online from this Sunday to entice people to either be involved or to come to the show. \nHope this all makes sense.  Here’s Bill with the weather… \nTom
