Just turn up at the theatre at 7:30pm. \nThe May production is to be ‘A Warwickshire Testimony ‘ 10-14th  May\, directed by Paulette Anderson. Auditions for this are on 24th and 25th Jan. This is a  tale of a Warwickshire village  from the 1920s to the 1960’s seen through the eyes of its inhabitants. In preparation\, Mike is holding\, on two consecutive nights\, this readthrough and an audition for the play. Tuesday 1st March is the readthrough. \nALL regardless of age\, gender are welcome to come to one or both nights to find out about the play. However\, Mike is looking for four men with playing age between 20 and 60\, as the script states. \nABOUT THE PLAY \nStep back in time to the world of 1980’s nightlife! \nRemember preparing to head out at the weekend with ‘the lads’ or ‘the girls’.. the anticipation of the evening ahead and the trepidation when you arrived at the doors of the nightclub in case you got turned away by the men in black? \nBut did you ever give any thought to the lives those gruff men lead\, the things they see\, the worries they have and the fantasies they lose themselves in? \nSet ‘up north’\, Bouncers by John Godber\, is a comedy\, stacked with humour and pathos. It’s a 4-handed play where the actors perform multiple roles. \nDon’t be shy coming forward – we anticipate a good turnout!

SUMMARY:NEW! Readthrough of "Indian Summer"
DESCRIPTION:Sheila Hetherington and Bob Almquist are holding a full readthrough of a one-act play they are going to direct in December. The play was originally written for a cast of two females playing multiple roles and played in a London studio theatre. Sheila and I want to involve more actors so we are looking for a number of people to play the roles. \nThe setting is a buffet in a busy railway station (could be Crewe?) and the main running plot is the relationship between two servers in the buffet and their future plans. Interleaved with this\, customers stop by in ones and twos and speak about their lives. I want the buffet to be as realistic as we can manage with typical background sounds and to use themed music to introduce and punctuate the action as it changes from real time in the buffet to monologues ‘out of time’. \nSome parts are short and others longer\, offering opportunities for actors to try out a character without a long script to learn and some longer monologues to get your teeth into! There is also a comedy station announcer (voice only) who is new to the job and it shows! \nWe need to find out how the play reads and more importantly its playing time. \nHope you can come along!
