DESCRIPTION:The Revlon Girl by Neil Anthony Docking is set in Aberfan 8 months after the disaster in which one of the waste tips above the mining village of Aberfan in S Wales slid down the valley killing 144 people\,116 of which were children from the local primary school. \nThe play is about four women who\, having lost their children in the disaster\, wish to bring back some sort of normality into their lives by inviting a representative from the cosmetic company Revlon to give them some beauty tips. \nThe play is full of pathos\, humour and hope. Directed by Paulette Anderson. \nJust turn up at 7:30pm on the day and ask for Paulette!

DESCRIPTION:On Monday 7th October we will be holding our AGM at 7.30pm. \nMembers\, this is your chance to have your say about your society: what you like and what you don’t! We are there to sum up the last year’s activities and forthcoming events and want to hear your views. \nWe do need a minimum of 19 members for voting purposes\, so we would really appreciate your attendance \nAfter the meeting\, do please join us for a chat and light refreshments. \nA big Thank You to all who helped on front of house\, bar or selling raffle tickets and programmes! We hope you may be able to help again with our November production of  The Revlon Girl. Volunteering is a vital part of The Players so if you can spare a little of your time\, please do get in touch. \nWe now have two WhatsApp groups to co-ordinate events; one for front of house and one for the bar. DESCRIPTION:Open auditions to be held at Davenham Players Theatre on Friday 11th and Monday 14th October at 7.30pm for The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. \nProduction dates are 4th to 8th March 2025. \nHi everyone \nJust to let you know about my forthcoming production of The Importance of Being Earnest in the hope that I can entice you to come along to audition for a part. \nThe cast is made up of 4 females and 4/5 males as follows: \nLADY BRACKNELL\, an aristocratic and very formidable lady * who is mother to: \nHON.  GWENDOLEN FAIRFAX\, a well educated\, smart and sophisticated young lady of approx. 25 yrs.  She is anxious to find a husband by the name of Ernest. \nALGERNON MONCRIEF\, 30ish\, nephew of Lady B.\, lives almost entirely for pleasure. \nJACK WORTHING JP\, Algernon’s older (35/40) friend.  He is more worldly wise than A.I and is Guardian to his ward: \nCECILY CARDEW (19 yrs.) is a naive country girl who imagines that she engaged to a person called Ernest. \nMISS PRISM\, Cecily’s Governess.  A spinster who is attracted to: \nCANON CHASUBLE DD\,  a middle-aged Churchman who has never been married.
