DESCRIPTION:JOE MASTERSON TRIO WITH SUZI WOODS\nTHURSDAY 26TH MARCH 2026\n\nDescribed by many as a rising star of the UK Jazz scene\, Joe Masterson\, a 2020 graduate from Leeds Conservatoire is a Birmingham based pianist making his mark on the Birmingham and Midlands Jazz scene. After playing to sell-out crowds across the Midlands\, performing at the likes of Cheltenham and Birmingham Jazz festival\, Joe is also known for Jazz at Fletchers- a monthly jazz club in Kings Heath\, Birmingham running for over the past 3 years. Here\, along with his trio of Miles Levin and Simon Smith\, he has collaborated with the likes of Simon Spillet\, Chris Bowden\, Suzi Woods\, Steve Ajao and many more. Influenced by the likes of Monty Alexander\, Oscar Peterson and Eddie Higgins\, the trio play a variety of music\, always looking to groove. \nSimon Smith is one of the UK’s most in demand bassists. He has worked extensively as a freelance musician throughout the UK\, Europe and the US\, including a five year stint based in Los Angeles. Simon’s recording credits include Stevie Nicks\, Sarah McLachlan\, Wilson Phillips\, Glen Ballard and Dave Stewart. He has worked in the live touring bands of artists as diverse as Idina Menzel\, Linda Perry\, Carl Barât and Carina Round performing at venues and events including Lincoln Center (New York)\, Ambassadors Theatre\, Glastonbury Festival\, South by Southwest and La Bâtie Festival (Geneva) amongst many others. \nMiles Levin is simply one of the finest jazz drummers in the whole of the UK\, respected and admired nationally. He has performed all over the UK and internationally with many of the UK’s leading artists. Miles studied at the Guildhall\, and is the son of the great Tony Levin\, who played regularly with Tubby Hayes. \nGuest vocalist Suzi Woods has collaborated with some of the most famous musicians on the continent\, such as Jools Holland\, Elton John and Annie Lennox. Her clientele has included celebrities like David Beckham\, Tiger Woods\, Valentino and Princess Caroline of Monaco. SUMMARY:EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING
DESCRIPTION:An Extraordinary General Meeting of Members has been called to take place\nOn Monday 30th March at 7pm at\nDavenham Players Theatre\n59 Church Street\, Davenham\, CW9 8NF\nThe Davenham Players’ Committee proposes to members of the charity that it is in the best interests of the charity and its members to incorporate the charity as charitable incorporated organisation (CIO). A CIO has separate legal identity from its members\, which the charity doesn’t have under its current legal structure\, allowing it to hold property and enter into contracts in its own name and providing limited personal liability for its members. The Committee is proposing the following resolution. \nResolution  \n\nThat The Davenham Players (charity number 504475) take steps to incorporate itself as a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) on the following basis:\n\nthe new CIO shall be called The Davenham Players and shall seek registration as a charity with the Charity Commission;\nthe new CIO shall adopt the Charity Commission’s Model Constitution for a CIO with voting members other than its charity trustees (‘Association’ model);\nall assets\, property and contracts of The Davenham Players (charity number 504475) shall be transferred to the new CIO; and\nforthwith upon the completion of the above\, The Davenham Players (charity number 504475) shall be merged with the CIO. The merger shall be registered with the Charity Commission.\n\n\nThat the members of the Committee be and are hereby authorised to take all action and complete all documentation necessary to effect resolution 1.\n\nWhilst this should not affect the day to day running of the Players this is an important change and we do require at least 30％ of the membership to attend in order to pass the resolution.\nWe do not expect the meeting to be longer than half an hour and would welcome your attendance for this important matter.
