Written & Produced during Lockdown 2020.\n \nAbout this Event\n\n\nIn March 2020 a group of Davenham Players began rehearsals for a performance of radio plays and sketches… and then\, like millions of people across the globe\, they had to stop. But they didn’t stop… \nInstead they started to write\, set up online meetings and then record and edit their creations. \nTo launch the podcast\, on Thursday 1st October at 8:00pm we will share their first two episodes in a live stream via Zoom. Then we will do the same for the second two episodes on Thursday 15th October also at 8:00pm (this requires a separate booking). \nPlease join us as we look to bring an audience together\, virtually. You will be taken through time and space and even peek into a fictional version of Davenham Theatre itself! \nThere will be humour\, drama\, twists and turns. Hear the sea\, listen in on people’s lives and experience new\, but very familiar worlds. \nThe event is FREE and will be available to join via an online link once a ticket has been booked. See below for booking links. \n\n\nNote that the event on 15th October is not a repeat – each evening comprises brand-new material\, so you will need to listen to both events to hear the whole thing. Explore our costume room\, watch a rehearsal or have a natter about times gone by. \n\nThis theatre group recently discovered that their beloved building started life as a Victorian school and was even the home to a young family.\nHaving completed an ambitious extension and refurbish during the last 2 years\, the Players are thrilled to officially open their doors again. \nOn 11th September there will be an afternoon to take a taste of life within the building\, from current projects & groups\, to tales of the past.\nAnd as with most get togethers at 59 Church Street\, there will be cake! \nSit amongst our Writer’s Group\, join in with a Play Reading\, explore our Costume Room or listen to our Lockdown Podcast in the Props Room. \nNo booking required \nEntry free of charge \nAccess\nThe entrance is accessed via a slight incline at the side of the building. This leads to an accessible (including ramp) foyer with toilets\, leading to the auditorium. There are small and narrow steps and spaces in the backstage and upstairs areas which some may find difficult. There is also a bar area which only accessed via stairs. We are happy to answer any enquiries for more details on accessibility. \nCOVID-19 Considerations\nThis event will run in line with local & national government guidelines at the time of the festival.
