DESCRIPTION:Jazz at Davenham are delighted to announce that\nLiane Carroll\none of the UK’s top female jazz vocalists will be here with us on\nFriday 14th October\nJazz critic Dave Gelly of The Observer has described her as “one of the most stylistically flexible pianists around\, with a marvellous\, slightly husky singing voice”.  \nAccording to John Fordham of The Guardian\, she is “a powerful\, soul-inflected performer with an Ella Fitzgerald-like improvisational athleticism and an emotional frankness on ballads”. \nPeter Quinn of Jazzwise says: “Liane Carroll has that rare ability to meld effortless\, often transcendent vocal and piano technique\, with heart stopping emotion and soul bearing power.  \nNick Hasted of The Independent says that she is “still frustratingly little-known” but calls her “one of Britain’s most emotionally visceral and accomplished singers”. \nBookings can be made via email jazz@davenham.co or telephone Harry on 07717 224 238 / 01606 74502 Doors open 7.30pm music at 8pm.Tickets £15 on the door.
