SUMMARY:Jazz Dale Storr - The Sound of New Orleans
DESCRIPTION:(c)Information and images courtesy of Electronic Press Kit\nDALE STORR – THE SOUND OF NEW ORLEANS\nTHURSDAY 25TH FEBRUARY 2027\n\nDescribed by Jazz Journal magazine as the “piano man’s piano man…” and “a national treasure”\, Dale Storr’s musical journey has now brought him recognition as one of the UK’s leading exponents of New Orleans piano. Inspired by his parents record collection of early Rhythm n’ Blues and Rock n’ Roll\, the evocative music of New Orleans quickly became a passion for the young pianist. \nHe immersed himself into the styles of heroes like Dr.John\, James Booker\, Professor Longhair\, Allen Toussaint\, Fats Domino and Huey ‘Piano’ Smith to name but a few. His piano studies took him to Sheffield where he established himself as a highly sought after pianist backing many top rhythm and blues stars from the U.K. and America. \nHowever\, the music of his beloved New Orleans was always going to take precedence and from 2008 Dale went solo with his now acclaimed ‘Sounds of New Orleans’ show. \nIn 2023 Dale was chosen to open the main stage at the Buxton International jazz festival which was headlined by none other than Wynton Marsalis. His music has been extensively played on BBC Radio 2\, 3 and 6\, championed by Cerys Matthews and Paul Jones. \nGet ready for an emotional rollercoaster ride of the music and tales of the great New Orleans piano players \nThe Line Up \nDale Storr – Keyboard \n=========================================================== \n\nThe box office is able to take bookings for one gig at a time\, but do make a note of the dates which are of interest to you during our forthcoming season so that you can make your bookings at the appropriate time. \n\n\n\nIf possible\, make your requests via email\, but don’t forget to give us a little bit of notice if you know that you are going to be unable to attend.  We appreciate that there will always be unavoidable\, unforeseen circumstances\, but clearly we want to make places available and fill all possible seats\, particularly for gigs in high demand. \n\n\n\nWe are not a profit making organisation\, but we do want to keep breaking even in order to keep music live. \n\n\n\nBooking Enquiries Call Keith on 07990 703 787\nor email jazz@davenham.co\n\n\n\nPlease do not assume that your places are confirmed unless you have had a response from J@D and\, if you have not\, then contact us again \n\n\n\nDoors & Bar 7.30pm Gigs start @ 8pm\n   Tickets £15\n\n\n\nFrom JAZZ@DAVENHAM TEAM\nGREAT GIGS\nFABULOUS BANDS\nClick to see the full Jazz Programme
