SUMMARY:Jazz Jeremy Sassoon's MOJO
DESCRIPTION:MOJO (Music Of Jewish Origin) charts the history of Jewish artists and songwriters through the ages. It is narrated and played by Jeremy from the piano\, accompanied by his exceptional trio\, and bears all the hallmarks of his inimitable style as an entertaining raconteur. It is well researched but the musical story is told from a personal perspective. \nJeremy explains “The theme of Jewish songwriters has been covered before\, but I noticed that these usually concentrated on a relatively narrow time frame encompassing the Great American Songbook and Broadway musicals. I decided to widen the scope into a story that covers this period but then progresses through rock and roll and into popular music\, right up to the present day. Without wanting to give away too much\, my songwriters range from George Gershwin and Irving Berlin through Leiber & Stoller\,  Leonard Cohen and Carole King\, to Barry Manilow and Amy Winehouse.
