SUMMARY:Jazz Butcher's Brew
DESCRIPTION:Butcher’s Brew is a modern jazz group that has played shows at Ronnie Scott’s\, the 606 Club\, Matt and Phreds and Peggy’s Skylight. Led by Ray Butcher\, who is a jazz trumpeter who has played with many of the jazz greats from the UK scene. \nRay has worked with Dr John\, Mica Paris and recorded a solo on the song ‘God’s Great Dance Floor’ from the US chart topping and GRAMMY nominated release by Chris Tomlin ‘Burning Lights’. \nHe is joined by drummer Miles Levin\, who studied at the Guildhall\, and is the the son of the Tony Levin who played regularly with Tubby Hayes. \nTim Amann\, pianist\, who studied History at Cambridge\, is a composer and leader himself and has played with Art Farmer and David Murray among others. \nBassist Mike Green has performed with Jamie Cullum and is very much in demand around the midlands and beyond.  \nSam Rogers (sax) is an agile improviser and has worked with many influential musicians over a long period and brings a great warmth to the band.  \nThe band plays jazz\, funk\, blue note\, latin instrumental music and Tim\, Ray and Sam performed a similar set on two tours to Moscow and St Petersburg at the Union of Composers’ Club in 2007 and 2010.
