The setting is a two-up two-down terraced house in 1954 and 2011. \nThe cast to be recruited is:- \n\n 2 females ages  60s\n 1  female 50s\n 1 female  40s\n 2 females late 20s – early 30s\n\nGloria (60s) is know-it-all mother in law to long suffering\nClare (20s – early 30s)\nSusannah (60s) – Clare’s mum\, later to suffer onset of dementia.\nBetty (20s – early 30s) a mum in the 1950s.\nDot (40s) Betty ‘s sister.\nMabel (late 50s) mother to Betty and Dot in the 1950s \nMotherhood has an all female cast and deals with mother and daughter relationships from the 1950s and present day. Last year\, Davenham members attended workshops to explore their own memories and experiences of childhood and family life. These workshops resulted in a piece of new writing which is both heartwarming and thought-provoking. Interestingly\, director Denise plans to have an all-female backstage crew as well as an all-female cast! \nNOTE: On Thursday 6th July at 7.30pm Denise is holding a read through of  ‘Motherhood’ written by Felicity Barry\, directed by Denise Barry\, Felicity’s mother-in-law.

DESCRIPTION:Who is this  K.C. Finn?\nAuthor K.C. Finn lives in Chester and she is the author of more than 20 novels in the four years she has been in the writing business. K.C. is multi-award-winning\, having received the coveted Chanticleer Best Gothic Fiction 2016 award for her novel The Book Of Shade\, a 78\,000-word fantasy novel that took just 16 days to pen. She has also received accolades from the RONÉ Awards for Best Young Author Paranormal Fiction 2015 (The Mind’s Eye\, 2nd Place) and the Readers’ Favourite Award for Best Young Author Science Fiction book of 2016 (Legion Lost\, Commended Finalist) and is currently a semi-finalist for Best Young Author Book of The Year in the Dante Rossetti Prize 2017. \nIn the world of horror fiction\, K.C. Finn has also shared the charts with the likes of Stephen King and Dean Koontz for her worldwide best-selling story collection Sinister Sentiments. Finn’s Dark Moments explores life through the lens of three one-act plays where black comedy and gritty realism collide. \nIn PASSENGERS\, cabin fever takes hold of a band of holidaymakers on a late night flight\, suspicion and paranoia driving them to breaking point. \nMALE BLACK sees a group of friends sitting down to a dinner party\, when their common acquaintance Jimmy Black arrives. Black drives a rift into the group\, one that can only be resolved by murder. \nFinally\, in OTHER PEOPLE’S VIOLENCE\, the themes of isolation and loneliness are explored. Four people live in neighbouring flats\, and one of them is about to die.
