In 2016, The Other Theatre Company who usually perform in Plumley Village Hall, staged a three-hander called Heroes written by French playwright Gérald Sibleyras as ‘The Wind in The Poplars’ over a period of about 10 years. Sibleyras finally saw it staged (apparently unsuccessfully as far as he was concerned) in Paris in 2002. This new version of Sibleyras’s work, re-named ‘Heroes’, has been translated (with minor amendments) by Tom Stoppard. The three men concerned are first world war veterans…
